Three legal crews with different Heat profiles

A complete list is easier to learn from than “bring some quiet cards.” These three crews make their Heat choices visible, including what each choice leaves awkward.

What these lists are for

Each list below has twelve distinct current Sable City cards, at least three Heat values and no more than seven cards at one Heat. Their legality was checked against the game's crew validator. They are teaching lists, not tournament results or a claim about the strongest current deck.

All of the cards are available in the playable Roster from the start. You do not need the matching collectible slabs. The tables give set numbers so you can find the intended characters even if you use different art looks.

Gavin Verhey's advice on building with a plan is a useful starting point. Here, the first plan is simply to compare how three Heat distributions change the decisions you see.

Quiet lean: six low-Heat hands

This list has six Heat 1 cards, four Heat 2 and two Heat 3. It leaves more ordinary cards that fit late on the meter, but a quiet reveal can bring a small Haul. Four Wheels and only two Faces also give it an uneven role mix.

Watch how the remaining distribution changes. If the early flips reveal several Heat 1 cards, do not keep treating the deck as six quiet cards out of twelve. Some of that quiet room has already been spent.

Even Heat: four cards at each of three values

This crew splits evenly across Heat 1, 2 and 3. Its roles are four Brains, three Faces, three Muscle and two Wheels. The Heat pattern is easy to count, while the Wheels shortage provides a useful Full Crew lesson.

At alarm 16, any remaining Heat 3 card overflows. Count which ones have already appeared instead of using the original one-third share as the live risk.

Louder lean: room runs out sooner

This crew uses four Heat 2, four Heat 3 and four Heat 4 cards. It has no Heat 1 rescue at alarm 17. Its roles are four Faces, three Brains, three Muscle and two Wheels.

Its larger Hauls can create a meaningful bag quickly, but the shared meter can become dangerous for both crews. A loud list does not mean your best plan is always another flip.

Compare decisions, not a single result

Keep the rival and difficulty consistent while learning a list. After each Job, note one exit: the bag available, alarm room, missing roles and why you continued or banked. A Tripwire loss alone cannot tell you which distribution was better.

Then change one card for a reason you can state. If the two Wheels feel restrictive, try a role substitution while preserving legality. If late flips are uncomfortable, inspect the Heat mix. The goal is a crew whose tradeoffs you can recognize at the table.
